Why did you join Chattermill?

A big part of why I joined Chattermill was down to how impressed I was by Chattermill’s product. Its ability to unify customer data into a single source in real time seemed really cool to me. I found myself thinking of more and more design ideas for the company, which I just had to bring to life by joining the incredible team here.

What’s your day-to-day like?

My day usually starts whenever my son wakes up – he’s just over a year old, so that can be anytime between 5-7 am in the morning!

If the weather is good, we’ll go for a walk with him before I start work at 9 am. I always start by planning for the day ahead so I know exactly what designs I need to complete.

Except for the occasional meeting with my amazing team, I get to be creative in my work all day long – which is why I really enjoy it!

How would you describe the marketing team at Chattermill?

The marketing team is really something! This is the first time I have worked with a team of such professionals – each member of the team knows exactly what to do, and they are all incredibly creative in their work. I think the fact that we all communicate easily and support one another really helps too.

Do you work from home or in the office? How do you find either?

I work from home at the moment, which is very convenient for me. I don’t have to waste time travelling to the office – I wake up and instantly I’m at my workplace.

I think there’s a perception that if you work outside the office, then you lose close connection with your colleagues – I don’t think this is entirely true. In our company, we have weekly one-on-one meetings with a random employee, giving us the chance to actually connect with each other while talking about absolutely anything.

Since we communicate via video every day, I’ve always felt like a fully fledged member of the team!

Which of Chattermill’s values do you really get behind?

Honesty, professionalism in everything, and an excellent company culture.

What’s one thing you’re working on right now that you’re excited about?

At the moment we are working on a large project, where almost all the members of my team are involved.

I’m creating a lot of illustrations and animations for it, and it’s definitely the most interesting and large-scale project that I’ve done at Chattermill. I can’t talk about it too much, but I hope you get to see it soon!

What’s one piece of advice you’d give to someone starting out in design?

Don’t be afraid to do non-standard things and develop an eye for design – this will help you in the future!

What was the last book you read?

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows 🪄🧙‍♀️

Dream Holiday Destination?

Hawaii! 🌴🌴🌊

What’s the weirdest fact you know?

You know that feeling when your tongue hurts and tingles after you eat a pineapple? The fact is that pineapple has an enzyme that digests other proteins. So when you eat pineapple, pineapple eats you.
